Overview
Every organization has its core VALUES and Mission and Vision statement, by any means it focuses on growth of employees, all the stakeholders and continuous growth of organization itself.
Adhere to the core values
To maintain order within and at Yudiz and to prevent or reduce negative behavior by spreading positivity, We have our own set of rules or “Dos and Don’ts”. All Dos and Don’ts are to maintain discipline and to shape the behavior of the employees through education and training to achieve organizational goals faster.
Two basic principles behind all the organizational Dos and Don’ts is to make sure that any action by an employee doesn’t harm an organization and the second is the protection of rights of every individual.
Not just rules to follow, but it helps in individual growth
Whenever you think about Dos and Don’t of any organization, the first thing can come to your mind is all basic HR rules like disciplinary rules, leave policies, agreements, data security concerns, and employees’ behavior. These kind of information is generally available on your organization’s dedicated HR software. So, here we will focus on the Dos and Don’ts which not only help us to improve our daily operations but it will help us to improve personally as well as on a professional level for a long term.
Stages of an Employment
Yudiz has designed all the Dos and Don’ts based on employment stages. Your employment consists of mainly 3 stages
- First is the initial days of your new job which can also be said as “Probation Period” .
- Second is your routine employment as a Junior or Senior Employee.
- And the third stage is when you are about to leave a job which is in professional terms known as “Notice Period.”
As you can see it forms a circle where after notice period you might be in a probation period at a new organization. Here in all three stages, make sure you don’t work with a fixed mindset, always have a growing mindset which helps you with gaining knowledge to improve all the time.
Dos and Don’ts during Probation Period
In the first stage which is the probation period, you need to consider it the most crucial stage of any employment. You have to be vigilant with each and every step.
Below are a few Dos I highly recommend one must follow to be proficient in the corporate world. Every employee needs to keep them in mind during the probation period.
- If you are fresher and if it’s your first job, your first priority is to get fabricate an easy learning strategy to gain effective knowledge about what you are going to do, and if you are senior your first focus should be understanding the vision, mission and core values of the particular organization and the best thing about this process is applicable for fresher for later stages. Make sure whatever you do is for your growth and it should match with organizational vision.
- We at Yudiz have enough HR activities and refreshment programs like Trips, Hackathon, Sports Leagues etc., where you will get lots of opportunities to get adjusted with fellow employees. Try to take part in those activities to get familiar with your new work space, instead of spending your productive time doing the same during working hours.
- Don’t apply the cool college logic at your workspace. Both have different people with individual sets of perspectives about you.. Get some formal or casual outfits which make you presentable, your dressing. The way you present yourself shows how confident you are and probably affects your work mood too.
- Never discuss and compare your Salary with others. Comparing your pay with others will always give you negativity. You should not compare the necessary resources that have been allotted to you with your fellow colleagues. Comparison always leads to disappointments.
- Don’t think about overnight growth or promotion, that is not possible in any organization. Give time for yourself and you will see the result when you show viable efforts.
- Try to do a task which makes a difference and puts you on the top of that leaderboard. Grab all the opportunity and do it in a different way, this will help in recognition and acknowledgements.
- Be very active on social media, update current employment detail, never leave yourself with past employer on any social media platform
- Never ignore office culture and protocols. Yudiz has its own norms of functioning and work practices, understand it properly.
- Speaking when necessary isa good practice, try to communicate with like minded people, keep yourself engaged with fellow colleagues. Never hesitate to give your fresh innovative inputs in team meetings and calls.
Dos and Don’ts during your Employment
Now when you are not on probation period or not a fresher, don’t be relaxed. It’s a long journey, keeping up the growing mindset, setting new milestones and trying to achieve it all the time will help you maintain a professional integrity.
Below are a few Dos and don’ts recommended during your employment which help you for the growth.
- Be a good planner, plan your work and try to take less pauses. Learning time management helps you to avoid stress.
- Never go for frequent breaks for tea or smoke. Always focus on work consistency first and don’t take unnecessary breaks till the task allocated to you is completed. or whenever you actually need a break.
- Always help others to improve or complete their task, especially juniors. Being a selfless giver will eventually come back to you and it also represents positive character development.
- It’s time for you not to carry burden of work which is not suitable for you, learn delegation model and delegate work properly
- Do productive work during your extra hours, the best option is reading books and gaining knowledge. Yudiz has a good reading culture and knowledge sharing sessions. At Yudiz no one will stop you from visiting Yudiz’s Library.
- One on One knowledge-gaining sessions are very important, schedule, plan, and execute it.
- Decide and execute your Objectives and Key Result, discuss the same with your colleagues and seniors. Take actions on improvement immediately.
- Never think that HR activities are for juniors only, participate in all the activities and encourage others to do the same.
- Being a senior, avoid becoming spoiler or rule breaker in an organization
Dos and Don’ts during Notice Period
One more critical stage for an employee is when he or she is on notice period. This is the stage when its obvious employee forgets all the Dos and Don’t and enjoys a relaxing mood, but I recommend avoiding such behavior. You have to behave professionally during this stage.
Below are a few Dos and Don’ts which one has to follow during the notice period.
- Before putting your papers try your best for a “win win” deal with your organization, if you find a solution don’t leave. This is most important
- Remember, this organization is a place where you have worked for months and you have to maintain a healthy relationship with your current organization after your employment too. Don’t involve yourself in any activity which jeopardizes your image as a human being and a good employee.
- If you are a disgruntled employee. Give feedback to the responsible person about the issue (in a most formal way) and try to resolve the issue, but spreading negativity during your notice period among other staff shows your professional ethics and moral
- Work as you were working before notice period. Be yourself and never change your behavior or attitude towards others.
- Complete your all the task and do all the knowledge transfer in time, Don’t put others in trouble during your absence
- Frequently contact HR and your senior for smooth updates and transition.
- Be transparent, there is no point in hiding about your next job with your management.
If we all follow the above Dos and Don’t in our organization and include maturity in your behavior, work with an ownership and keeping loyalty in mind, Together we will be able to maintain a disciplined environment and have a healthier work environment which helps to achieve common organizational as well as individual goals.
Discipline will definitely makes us StrongerTogether
